Bills' defense likes to torment big-name QBs

The Buffalo Bills’ defense intercepted Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick four times last weekend and picked off New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on four occasions three weeks ago.

Yet the Bills only intercepted Cincinnati Bengals’ Andy Dalton, Oakland Raiders’ Jason Campbell and Kansas City Chiefs’ Matt Cassell a combined four times.

Maybe Buffalo just prefers to torment big-name quarterbacks while cutting the others a little slack.

“If that’s the case, I’m going to talk about how big each quarterback is every week,” Bills coach Chan Gailey joked during his Tuesday press conference. “We’ll talk about that if that’s the key.”

The Bills, who lead the league in interceptions, have already eclipsed their 2010 total of 11.

“I think we’re just going after the ball more,” Gailey said. “We’re attacking the ball better, which we didn’t do a little bit earlier in the season. We’ve really made an emphasis about attacking the ball.”

George Wilson leads the team with three interceptions, and Drayton Florence, Nick Barnett and Bryan Scott each have two. Florence, Barnett and Scott also have touchdowns to go along with their takeaways.

Leodis McKelvin, Reggie Corner and Da’Norris Searcy have one pick apiece.
