Giants 27, Bills 24: quarter-by-quarter sum

First quarter:

Two big plays -- an 80-yard run by Fred Jackson and a 60-yard toss from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Naaman Roosevelt -- catapulted the Bills to a 14-7 lead over the New York Giants.

The Giants took a 7-0 lead when Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a 1-yard run to cap off a 69-yard New York drive. Eli Manning picked at the middle of the field, targeting receivers who were in matchups with Buffalo's linebackers.

Second quarter:

New York's offense worked its way deep into Buffalo's territory early in the second quarter, thanks in part to a pass interference call on Buffalo's Drayton Florence, though the Giants had to settle for a field goal. Florence's penalty essentially saved the Bills four points. Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes split the uprights on a 26-yard boot to end a 13-play, 84-yard drive.

Bradshaw found the end zone again on another 1-yard run, finishing an 89-yard drive that came after the Bills stalled on offense via a Fitzpatrick fumble followed by a sack and giving New York a three-point lead.

Rian Lindell evened the score at 17-17 with a 49-yard kick that started right but hooked in. It was Lindell's 200th career field goal.

Third quarter:

Buffalo couldn't make anything of a second-half opening possession, having to punt the ball away. The Giants responded with a 10-play, 75-yard drive that took over five minutes and was completed with yet another 1-yard scoring run by Bradshaw.

Corey Webster intercepted Fitzpatrick later in the quarter to give the Giants an opportunity to go up by two scores. The Bills, however, blocked a 51-yard attempt by Tynes to give Buffalo possession.

Fourth quarter:

Fitzpatrick connected with Stevie Johnson on a 9-yard touchdown pass to knot the game at 24-24.

The Bills were poised to take the lead before Fitzpatrick threw his second interception of the game to Webster. The Giants then ate seven minutes and two seconds off the clock before Tynes gave his team a three-point lead, and New York made a defensive stand.

Eli Manning kneeled three times to end it.

Stat notes: Manning finished the game going 21-for-32 for 292 yards and no touchdowns. Fitzpatrick was 21-for-30 for 244 yards with his two scores and pair of picks.

Jackson amassed 121 yards on 15 carries, mostly thanks to his scoring run, but Bradshaw's three 1-yard touchdowns made the difference, as he accounted for all of his team's points but two field goals and three extra points.
