Sack-happy Eagles ready for challenge

The Buffalo Bills have given up the second-fewest sacks (3) in the NFL, with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick being taken down just twice all year.

Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles look to change that. The Eagles are tied with the Washington Redskins for the most sacks on defense (15).

"Well listen, (Fitzpatrick) does a heck of a job getting the ball out fast and our guys do a heck of a job of getting to the quarterback fast, so it’ll be a good challenge for our defensive line and any blitzers that might come,” Eagles coach Andy Reid told the media Friday.

Fitzpatrick has done a great job so far in diagnosing what the defense is bringing and sensing pressure. His ability to translate that into quicker passes, throwaways or simply moving away from the pressure spots has been a big help to his offensive line, as well.

“You’re talking about a very intelligent guy that has a great feel for the game, that’s Fitzpatrick I’m talking about, and so those are the kinds of challenges you enjoy having as a football player," Reid said.

Fitzpatrick has yet to take a sack in the first, second or fourth quarters this season.

Jason Babin leads the Eagles with seven sacks.
