Gailey: I put Andy (Levitre) in a bad spot

Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Andy Levitre hasn’t played in his normal spot at left guard in quite some time this season because of Buffalo's injury-depleted offensive front.

He was forced to take over at center Sunday against the Dolphins, and he was clearly out of place in Buffalo’s 35-8 loss.

“I put Andy in a bad spot today, with the weather, and I cant let that happen,” Bills coach Chan Gailey told the media after the game. “He’s a good football player. We’ll get that solved.”

Levitre was serviceable the last few games filling in at left tackle, but handling the ball on every single offensive play is an entirely different animal. He struggled snapping to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Via Twitter, Levitre was apologetic to fans after the game, which was a classy move considering he was dealt a pretty bad hand on short notice.

“Appreciate the positive comments,” Levitre’s Twitter account read. “I realize it wasnt a great game for me. As for those with the negative comments, keep em to yourself the only negative ones i listen to are from my coaches. we will find a way to get back to winning this week.”
