Jackson continues 'monster' season for Bills

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said it best Monday: “Fred Jackson has been a monster.”

The Buffalo Bills’ veteran running back put up another huge game Sunday against the Washington Redskins, this time amassing 120 yards rushing paired with 74 yards through the air.

“He keeps doing it. He’s our guy,” Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick told the media Monday. “Whenever we need a play he seems to be making the play, whether it’s in the pass game or running the ball or breaking five tackles. Whatever it is, he’s been our guy this year and I can’t say enough about him.”

Through seven games, Jackson leads the AFC in rushing yards per game, as he has picked up 721 yards on 132 carries, good enough for 5.5 yards a carry.

He plays an equal role in the passing game, as he 353 yards on 27 receptions, good enough for 13.1 yards a reception. His pass blocking skills are also above average.

Buffalo's Sunday opponent in the Jets are ranked 25th against the run, giving up nearly 127 yards a game on the ground.
