Sanchez: Ball security a premium vs. Bills

The Buffalo Bills lead the league in interceptions. That’s a problem for their opponents.

And, they play in Buffalo.

“Ball security this week is at a premium,” New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez told the media Wednesday. “One, because of the way they play and two, because of potential weather.”

Buffalo (5-2), which has picked off opposing quarterbacks 14 times this year, is slated to host the Jets (4-3) Sunday in a critical AFC East matchup.

The Jets are no strangers to interceptions on defense either, as they’re fourth in the league in that category with 11 picks.

“That’s an important aspect of this game and usually the team that takes care of the ball best wins,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez has 12 touchdowns and six interceptions this season, and Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has tossed for 14 scores to seven picks.
