Dolphins' solid Moore especially effective at home

By Nick St. Denis

Last year and early this season, the Miami Dolphins were awful at home.

Matt Moore didn't get the memo.

Moore, since taking over the starting quarterback job after Chad Henne went down to a shoulder injury in Week 4, has been extremely effective at Sun Life Stadium.

The fifth-year quarterback has thrown five of his nine touchdowns and only one of his five picks on home turf. He's completing passes at a 64.5 percent rate at home.

Moore will have an opportunity to expand on those numbers when the Dolphins (4-8), winners of four of their last five games, host the Philadelphia Eagles (4-8).

"He's playing lights out right now, doing a nice job," Eagles coach Andy Reid told the media Wednesday.

Eagles defensive end Trent Cole said Moore's play is "a big reason" for the Dolphins recent success.

"He’s streaky right now, I think," Cole told reporters Wednesday. "I mean, when we go down and play them we can’t let him get into streak mode; when he gets going, he’s going."
