Eagles wary of Jets' No. 1-ranked red zone offense

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New York Jets boast the best red zone offense in the NFL, as the Jets score touchdowns on nearly 72 percent of their trips inside the 20-yard line.

“They have a receiver that is 6-5, 230-240 pounds, they have a really good tight end, and they have a balance with a pretty good running game," Eagles linebacker Jamar Chaney told the Philadelphia media Wednesday. "That’s pretty much all the things you need to have in the red zone."

The Jets have scored a touchdown on every red zone trip over the past three games and have crossed the goal line 30 out of 42 times when getting inside the 20 this season.

"They have a big, physical back with a big, physical offensive line along with receivers that go up for the fade balls in the end zone," Chaney said. "With all those things, they also use the wildcat formation. They have a lot of stuff they can do down there.”

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez tossed two touchdowns and ran for two more last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, with all four of those scores coming in the red zone.
