Fitzpatrick 'shocked and disappointed' with Bills' play

By Nick St. Denis

The Buffalo Bills started the season 5-2 and looking like a playoff team.

Buffalo is now 5-7 and just looking to finish respectively after losing five straight.

"Yeah, extremely shocked and disappointed, all those words," Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick told the media Sunday after Buffalo lost to the Tennessee Titans.

Despite falling to 5-5 two weeks ago, Buffalo had a chance to stay alive in the playoff hunt with games against the Wildcard-potential New York Jets and Titans. Instead, the Bills lost both games and are all but eliminated from the playoff race.

"The way that we’ve played lately hasn’t been good enough, and the last few weeks we knew that we had to get something going, Fitzpatrick said. "We were playing the Jets and we were playing Tennessee which are two teams that are right in it and essentially two teams that if we beat them we are looking good and are in good shape, and we didn’t get it done."

The Bills haven't made the playoffs since 1999. Buffalo started the 2008 season 4-0 but finished 7-9.

"I guess it’s a growing process for this team," Fitzpatrick said. "It’s a position that we haven’t really been in lately and it’s been really disappointing these last five weeks."
