Jets getting exactly what they wanted out of Maybin

By Nick St. Denis

The New York Jets acquired defensive end Aaron Maybin to work strictly as a pass-rush specialist. That he has been.

Maybin's stats are scarily efficient. He has only nine tackles, but six of them are sacks. And not only that, but four of his takedowns forced fumbles.

After being picked up by the Jets a few weeks into the season, Maybin recorded three sacks and three forced fumbles in his first four games in green.

The former Buffalo Bills' first-round bust sacked Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick twice two weeks ago and made a game-changing strip-sack Sunday in the fourth quarter against the Washington Redskins.

Maybin has without a doubt played with much less pressure on him in New York, which sort of sounds backward. He has looked loose during his time on the field, and he's certainly been an impact player.
