Pats' O'Brien on Brady clash: 'I heard from my mom'

BY NICK ST. DENIS

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien wasn't too interested in discussing his sideline yelling match with quarterback Tom Brady Sunday when talking to the media Tuesday, but he did share some personal advice he received following the incident.

"I heard from my mom (to) watch my language," O'Brien said via conference call with New England reporters. "It's just two competitive guys that want the best for the team. We've moved on to Denver; getting ready for Denver now."

O'Brien and Brady exchanged words in a heated debate Sunday after Brady threw an interception in the end zone to give the Washington Redskins a chance for a game-tying drive. The Patriots (10-3) ended up winning anyway, but the argument got a lot of attention.

"... sometimes communication takes different forms and it's an intense environment, a competitive environment and the players would want it no other way and the coaches would want it no other way," O'Brien said.
