'Phins deal Marshall to Bears for two third-rounders

BY SEAN DONOVAN

The Dolphins traded Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Bears Tuesday for 2012 and 2013 third-round draft picks.

Marshall will be reunited with quarterback Jay Cutler, who Marshall played with in Denver. Marshall had hinted in the past that he would like to play with Cutler again.

Miami traded for Marshall in April 2010 for two second round draft picks. In two seasons with the Dolphins, Marshall caught 167 passes for 2,228 yards and nine touchdowns. He was the MVP of this years Pro Bowl after catching a record four touchdowns for the AFC.

Losing their number one receiver could have implications in the Dolphins' pursuit of free agent quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn, as either quarterback would not have a premier player to throw to.
