Nike unveils new NFL uniforms at event in New York

BY SEAN DONOVAN

Nike unveiled new NFL jerseys on Tuesday, with most of the changes being a matter of form and material rather than style.

Reebok has exclusively manufactured the NFL's official jerseys for over the last decade, but Nike now has a contract to produce the uniforms for at least the next five seasons.

The new design was supposedly made with player performance in mind. "The difference is in the feel, and it’s lighter,” Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said, according to Bloomberg News. “I don’t know if it will make me faster, but I hope so.”

Fans expecting big changes in appearance were disappointed, with only the Seahawks getting any type of significant overhaul and the Broncos changing their primary color.

As for the four AFC East teams, they'll see no aesthetic changes other than a small line pattern on the collars of the jerseys of the Bills, Jets and Dolphins. Patriots receiver Wes Welker, Bills defensive back George Wilson, Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby and Jets running back Shonn Greene were in New York City to model their respective teams' new uniforms.
