LaDainian Tomlinson wasn't going to be playing for the Jets next year. Now, it looks like he won't be playing for any team.

Saturday, Tomlinson told Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter he's 95 percent retired. We'll see, though.

Tomlinson wasn't expected to return to the Jets, though he was plenty productive in his two seasons with Gang Green. He excelled on passing downs, both in protection and in running routes as an outlet for quarterback Mark Sanchez.

The future Hall of Famer, who has amassed 219 total touchdowns in his 11-year career, is most certainly done, like he told Trotter.

However, if Tomlinson doesn't join forces with any team this offseason, don't be surprised if his services are called upon midway through the season if a playoff-bound team is short in the tailback-depth department.
