Homer Guide: Week 7 AFC East fantasy glance

BY SAM HOLLINGSWORTH

A look at fantasy starts, sits and sleepers in the AFC East for Week 7. (Spoiler Alert: Don't play any Dolphins).

BUFFALO BILLS
Must start: RB C.J. Spiller – He’s coming off his best game (88 yards, 1 TD, 4 rec for 22 yards) since leaving injured during Week 3, and the Titans' defense will surely give up plenty of rushing yards, being ranked in the bottom tier all season. Fred Jackson, who will split touches with Spiller, is an equal alternative.
Proceed with caution:  TE Scott Chandler – Chandler has cooled down since his fast start, and while he’ll most likely get hot again before the end of the season, it won’t be this week. He’s only caught five the ball five times in the last two games, and he hasn't scored in that span.
Sleeper alert: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick — Not a true sleeper, but his matchup vs. Tennessee is a great place to improve his numbers. The Titans are giving up nearly 300 yards per game, and Buffalo's offensive weapons will attack it with catch-and-runs.

NEW YORK JETS
Must start:
RB Shonn Greene – There really is no one else on the team worth taking the risk on. Greene is coming off his best game of the year, and the Jets need a balanced attack to stay on pace with the Patriots’ offense. For that to work, Greene will get plenty of touches.
Proceed with caution: Jets DEF – Playing against the Patriots' No. 1-ranked offense in Foxborough is reason enough.
Sleeper alert: TE Dustin Keller – We know quarterback Mark Sanchez likes Keller as a target, and he doesn’t have many other experienced options at his disposal. Look for Keller to be targeted early and often. He’s fully-returned from injury, and his fantasy owners get a breath of fresh air from him this weekend.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Must start:
WR Wes Welker – Dude’s on fire, and there’s no reason to think he’s slowing down vs. the Patriots’ biggest rival. He’s got at least 10 catches and a touchdown in each of his last two games. He's a no-brainer.
Proceed with caution: Patriots DEF – I’m actually starting the Patriots’ defense in both of my leagues this week, but it remains the biggest risk on the team from a fantasy standpoint... especially against a Jets' offense that is picking up steam and considering all the bad blood between the teams.
Sleeper alert: RB Stevan Ridley – Look for the Patriots to focus on establishing their run game to prove a point to the Jets while taking a shot at their weak spot. The Jets’ run defense is currently ranked 28th, and the team is currently allowing the 19th-most points in the league.

MIAMI DOLPHINS are on a bye.
