Week 6 AFC East game picks: Colts at Jets

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche, Sean Donovan and Sam Hollingsworth pick the New York Jets' AFC battle with the Indianapolis Colts.

Nick's take:
The Jets sort of made a statement by keeping it close Monday night against the Houston Texans in a game they were supposed to get blown out in. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez looked pretty good despite a pair of picks off of tipped passes, and he'll get back his favorite target in tight end Dustin Keller and maybe rookie receiver Stephen Hill from their respective injuries this week.
Prediction: Jets 17, Colts 13

Sean's take:
After a hard fought loss on Monday night, the 2-3 Jets look to stabilize their season. Indianapolis is still very much an unknown quantity at this point, but it has a very talented rookie quarterback under center and an underrated defense. Just as it did in Miami Week 3, New York uses determination and experience to edge out a young team.
Prediction: Jets 20, Colts 17

Dan's take:
As the calls for quarterback Tim Tebow to start for the Jets rise, so does the pressure on Sanchez to perform. Sanchez might get a break from the heat this week, however, as a weak rushing defense and the likely return of Keller could spell a big game for a New York offense in desperate need of a turnaround. The Colts' passing game has been impressive, but their rushing game is anything but. Look for Shonn Greene to have a statement game at home.
Prediction: Jets 17, Colts 14

Sam's take:
The Colts showed what they were capable of last week vs. Green Bay, and walking into the Meadowlands and beating the 3.5-point-favored Jets is a good way to keep it going in the right direction. They're missing their head coach, but the Colts are starting to really form some chemistry, and Andrew Luck is ready to perform at the next level.
Prediction: Colts 35, Jets 12
