Bills to don throwbacks; TV fans will see them, too

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

The Buffalo Bills will be sporting some '60s attire for Sunday's matchup against the Rams, and it looks like local fans who aren't at the game will actually get to see it.

After fear that the contest would not be broadcast due to lack of ticket sales, local business owner Russell J. Salvatore bought the remaining tickets to avoid a second straight local blackout.

It’s such a winner for me,” Salvatore told the Buffalo News Wednesday. “I do it because I enjoy doing it. It’s thanking the people of Buffalo – without them, where would I be?

“It’s amazing how the Buffalo Bills hit people’s hearts.”

As for the attire, Buffalo's Nike throwback jerseys, which were unveiled in late Septemberpay homage to the team's 1965 AFL Championship season and are white with blue numbers. Buffalo will also rock its traditional white helmet with the red Buffalo logo.

The Bills haven't worn the throwbacks since 2009.
