Jets drop OL coach Guge, move Devlin from TEs

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Well, that took long enough. Monday, the New York Jets announced Dave DeGuglielmo would not be retained as the team's offensive line coach.

The outspoken man they call 'Guge,' who came to New York with former offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, was never expected to return, though it took the Jets a while to make it official. It looks like they were waiting to do it while announcing a few other coaching changes. (photo: Pedro Cambra, Flickr)

In a corresponding move, Gang Green moved Mike Devlin, who spent the last five seasons as the team's tight ends/assistant offensive line coach.

The Jets also hired assistant special teams coach Louie Aguiar, tight ends coach Steve Hagen, assistant offensive line coach Ron Heller, assistant strength and conditioning coach Pierre Ngo and assistant defensive line/linebackers coach Jeff Weeks. Weeks was with the Jets from 2009-11.
