Free agent tight end Fred Davis is making his partial AFC East tour this week.

Davis, formerly of the Washington Redskins, told Brian Harrington of Pro Football Central Tuesday that he was leaving for a visit with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday. Davis met with Bills brass over the weekend and is following it up with a trip to their facility. (photo: Keith Allison, Flickr)

Davis also said he'll be off to see the New York Jets "in a couple of days."

The five-year veteran, who has accumulated close to 2,000 career yards and 12 scores, said he liked the Bills' "vibe" when he met with them a few days ago but that he still wants to explore other avenues.

“I just want to see where the best opportunity is to be able to win,” Davis said, via BuffaloBills.com. ”I had a great conversation with the Bills. The head coach was really cool. The offensive coordinator was cool. The GM and the president they were all great guys. I had a good time. We had a lot of good conversation about football and life.

"I liked the conversation we had, but it’s a business so you’ve got to see all your options and then make a decision. You can’t just make a decision after seeing one choice."

Buffalo is returning incumbent starter Scott Chandler in 2013, while New York lost Dustin Keller to the Miami Dolphins via free agency.
