Jets ink arena-league trio in Aumavae, Crocker, Mayo

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Friday, the New York Jets signed a trio of arena-leaguers in defensive tackle Junior Aumavae, defensive back Eric Crocker and Wide receiver Thomas Mayo.

And, in other exciting news...

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Mayo, who played for the AFL's Chicago Rush in 2012, participated in the Oakland Raiders' training camp last summer but was waived at the end of August. (photo: James Albright, Flickr)

Aumavae, a 6-foot-2, 310-pounder, was signed by the Dallas Cowboys last April as a free agent but didn't make it to training camp. He has experience with the AFL's Tampa Bay Storm and two Indoor Football League teams on his resume.

Crocker, who stands at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, is a first-time NFL signee after playing for the AFL's San Antonio Talons in 2012.

And all of a sudden, David Garrard looks really good. It's like the episode of Family Guy when Peter's company gives Meg a not-so-attractive friend to follow her around and make her look better by comparison.
