LaRon Landry set to visit Colts, three other teams

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New York Jets really want safety LaRon Landry back. Other teams really want Landry, too.

Landry, the hard-hitting centerfielder who had one of his best and healthiest seasons in 2012 with Gang Green, has at least four visits lined up, according to Brian Costello of the NY Post. (photo: Pedro Cambra, Flickr)

The Indianapolis Colts will host Landry, and three other teams reportedly will dine the veteran defender. (Update: Jason Cole of Yahoo.com reported the other teams as being the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.)

Landry tallied 99 tackles, two interceptions, a touchdown, eight passes defensed and four forced fumbles in 2012, which was the first season he played in 16 games since 2008.

The Jets' top three safeties from a year ago are currently off the roster, with Landry and Yeremiah Bell on the free market and Eric Smith getting cut by the team.
