QBs have Bills' full attention in pre-draft preparation

BY NICK ST. DENIS

If one thing is certain in the Buffalo Bills' 2013 draft campaign, it's that a quarterback is in their crosshairs.

Teams were recently allowed 30 official pre-draft visits, and 30 prospect visits were reported by the Bills. Nine of them were quarterbacks.

“I’ve said from Day One, this quarterback class is better than everybody thinks it is," Bills general manager Buddy Nix said earlier this week, via BuffaloBills.com. "It’s better than the publicity they get and by that I mean there’s about five or six of those guys, maybe seven, that do a lot of things good and do them good enough to win. (photo: goddam, Flickr)

"I said this from the start that two or three of these guys will be franchise quarterbacks. I believe that.”

The Bills signed veteran Kevin Kolb this offseason and brought back Tarvaris Jackson but are obviously going to draft a quarterback to groom for the future.

While most teams have been reluctant to let their pre-draft visits be known, the Bills put up billboard after billboard regarding their hosting and working out of prospects. Here's the list of signal-callers who were courted by Buffalo:

E.J. Manuel, Florida State; Mike Glennon, NC State; Geno Smith, West Virginia; Landry Jones, Oklahoma; Jeff Tuel, Washington State; Matt Scott, Arizona; Matt Barkley, USC; Tyler Bray, Tennessee.
