Worthy AFC East'ers crack PFF's Top 101 ranking

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

Pro Football Focus recently released its list of the top 101 players in the NFL, and there were plenty of AFC East names that made the cut.

Twelve players in all from the division made the analytical website's list, with the New England Patriots leading all four teams in selections (4). (photo: Chris Seward, Flickr)

The Miami Dolphins boasted the fewest nods (2), though the team's star pass rusher — Cameron Wake — was the only one of the bunch to crack the top 10.

The Buffalo Bills' crew — comprised of C.J. Spiller, Kyle Williams and Jairus Byrd — was the most impressive, with all three players showing up in the top 25. All three were also added to the final Pro Bowl roster this past January.

Three usually-underrated New York Jets players — Muhammad Wilkerson, Antonio Cromartie and Brandon Moore — were paid the honor they deserved after putting up solid yearlong performances despite the myriad distractions that surrounded the team all season.

Below is a listing of each player picked from the division, broken down by team. To see Pro Football Focus's Top 101 in its entirety, click here. Follow the links on the top of the page to read the descriptions for each player.

Patriots: Tom Brady (21), Devin McCourty (28), Rob Gronkowski (42), Sebastian Vollmer (54)

Dolphins: Cameron Wake (8), Reshad Jones (48)

Bills: C.J. Spiller (18), Kyle Williams (22), Jairus Byrd (25)

Jets: Muhammad Wilkerson (14), Antonio Cromartie (33), Brandon Moore (78)
