Stevie will go all out in practice to test back

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Stevie Johnson is pretty sure he'll be ready to return to the field Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, but there's only one way to find out.

Due to a back strain, the Buffalo Bills' No. 1 wideout (for now) was a gametime decision last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, and the decision was no. In his team's upcoming divisional bout, Johnson plans on the decision being yes.

Johnson will try to work the back to full capacity this week in order to get the answer he's looking for.

“In practice I want to see if can go as hard as I usually do because that’s going to tell me a lot,” Johnson said Monday, via BuffaloBills.com. ”Even though the games are a whole other level, practice is where I get to read the meter on how my body is and how I can move in certain routes. We’ll see as the days go on."

Buffalo can certainly use Johnson's services not only for his own production, but to help open up big-play opportunities for the Bills' young stable of wideouts, which will be up against a Dolphins defense that has given up seven pass plays of 40 or more yards in just five games.
