Week 6 picks: Steelers at Jets

Publisher Nick St. Denis, associate editor Dan Begnoche and senior contributor Sean Donovan pick the New York Jets' AFC contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Nick's take:
Everything about this one feels like a trap game... for the 3-2 Jets, not the 0-4 Steelers. Pittsburgh is bound to snap out of it, and a two-week break before facing the Jets, who are on a short week, is what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately, for the Steelers, the doctor didn't order enough. The Jets' defensive front wreaks havoc on another victim and Gang Green battles through an ugly game.
Prediction: Jets 20, Steelers 14

Sean's take:
Starting Week 1, Geno Smith has engineered a game-winning drive every other game this season. It won't be necessary this week. New York's defense will dominate a struggling Pittsburgh offense and Smith will have his offense rolling en route to a thorough Jets victory.
Prediction: Jets 27, Steelers 9

Dan's take:
Smith turned things around last week against a defense that's struggled to put pressure on the quarterback. He'll see a similar defense this week, with a Steelers squad that's yet to force a turnover and is dead last in sacks. Ben Roethlisberger will get a bit of a break with a banged up Gang Green secondary, but the Jets' front steps up against an offensive line that's allowed 15 sacks in only four games. Look for another strong performance by tight end Justin Cumberland in the wake of Kellen Winslow's suspension.
Prediction: Jets 22, Steelers 17
