Bills' D-tackles ready to 'get after it' under Schwartz

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The Buffalo Bills went from one aggressive defensive coordinator to another, hiring former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz a day after Mike Pettine departed for the Cleveland Browns last week.

Buffalo's defenders have already begun turning the page, getting the 411 on their new leader from Schwartz's former players.

"I talked to Sammie (Hill) and Nick Fairley briefly about him," Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus told BuffaloBills.com this weekend. "They say he is a good defensive coordinator and lets you get after it. That’s mainly what I am looking for."

Dareus and fellow interior lineman Kyle Williams are poised for big things under Schwartz, with Schwartz's specialty being run defense -- an area the Bills struggled with last season despite boasting one of the best pass rushes in the NFL.

"He obviously has a proven track record of good defenses during his time in Tennessee and some aggressive defenses in Detroit," Williams said. "We’ve got some good personnel and we know that he is going to put us in position to make plays and make our team the best that we can be.

"I am excited to see what he has in store for us."
