Brandon Spikes 'all in' with former divisional foe Bills

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Brandon Spikes spent four seasons facing the Buffalo Bills twice a year. Now, the former New England Patriots linebacker is getting a little taste of what it's like behind enemy lines.

"It’s kind of weird being on the opposite and now I’m with them," Spikes, who signed with Buffalo after hitting free agency in March, told BuffaloBills.com Tuesday. "I always thought they had a lot of great players and they played hard.

"They were just missing something, so I’m here and I know a lot of people play with a lot of attitude and however I can contribute, I am all in. I’m happy to be here."

Bills fans hope Spikes is that "something," though he's already endeared himself to his new fan base, predicting a Bills sweep over New England just a couple weeks ago. That would be some task, given the fact that the Bills have beat the Patriots just twice in the last 27 games and once in the last 21.

Spikes was brought in to add some force and physicality to the middle of Buffalo's defense and to bolster a unit that struggled against the run, where Spikes' specially lies.

It's only been a couple days, as the Bills have just begun voluntary offseason workouts. But so far, he likes what he sees.

"This is a great place and it’s a great organization," he said. "The fan base is wonderful, everything just feel great about this. I’m happy and I’m ready to get to work."
