Hartline doing things he's never done these days

BY NICK ST. DENIS

There's been a lot of buzz coming out of Miami Dolphins camp of late about new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's up-tempo system.

Add Brian Hartline, the team's kind-of No. 1 wideout, to the list of gossipers.

"It’s really interesting," Hartline said this week, via ESPN.com. "I’ve never been in an offense like this, how it’s called, how it’s run, the combination routes.

"There’s a lot of things going on that I haven’t done. It’s really exciting and actually, I’m really enjoying it. You can tell it puts a smile on my face. I can’t wait to learn more, do more and then put it into action."

Under then-coordinator Mike Sherman, Hartline led the Dolphins in yards (1016) and receptions (76) last season despite supposedly entering the year as the speedster Mike Wallace's sidekick.

Lazor's system will supposedly have Wallace moving around into different spots to create mismatches. The same should be applied to Hartline, who has proven to be quarterback Ryan Tannehill's go-to target despite all the hype on the other see of the field.
