Potentially eight suitors interested in Bills ownership

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

The next step following the submission of non-binding bids in the purchase of the Buffalo Bills franchise is the presentation of detailed financials via a face-to-face meeting with each interested party.

That process has reportedly started.

According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, the team has already met with billionaire prospective buyer Donald Trump at Ralph Wilson Enterprises in Detroit this week and plans to meet with the other two “official” candidates — the Pegulas and Jon Bon Jovi’s Toronto-based group — next week in New York.
Graham reported there could be up to five more suitors to sit down with Russ Brandon and Co. in the days/weeks to come, though none has been confirmed.

Graham posed former Sabres owner Tom Golisano as one potential candidate, as well as bond investor Jeffrey Gundlach and Dean Metropoulos, the owner of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Twinkie.

The Associated Press reported Thursday that the selection is expected to be announced some time by the end of September ahead of league meetings in New York in October.
