Corey Graham: Bills 'back to basics' on tackling

BY NICK ST. DENIS

In a rather forgettable night for the Buffalo Bills Thursday, the team had a tough time wrapping up Miami Dolphins players--at least as far as Bills coach Doug Marrone was concerned.

According to ProFootballFocus, the Bills missed five tackles on defense and another on special teams.

Those numbers were actually below the team's game average, though it was still a point of focus for the Bills following the game.

"Sometimes you get too high in your technique and things like that and you get careless and that’s how you miss tackles," Bills cornerback Corey Graham said, via BuffaloBills.com. "Some guys are just trying so hard and running so fast that it’s hard to stop (and break down), things like that.

"But you’ve just got to get back to the basics. You can’t miss tackles in this league and you’ve got to get the guy down when you have the opportunity."

Through five games, Buffalo players have combined for 68 missed tackles on defense and 11 on special teams. Defensive back Nickell Robey has been the team's biggest offender with nine on defense and two on special teams.
