Tough final stretch ahead for still-alive Bills

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Last week, the Buffalo Bills (6-5) took advantage of a matchup against a hapless New York Jets squad and kept their playoff hopes alive.

Now, the team is on to an extremely tough final stretch of the schedule. Buffalo's opponents for the remainder of the year combine for a .600 win percentage, the second highest of all teams in the playoff race, according to BuffaloBills.com.

And even that number doesn't really tell the whole story.

After hosting the 7-4 Cleveland Browns Sunday, the Bills travel to the 8-3 Denver Broncos before hosting the 8-3 Green Bay Packers.

They get a little break on a trip to the 1-10 Oakland Raiders (who have actually been playing their opponents tough all season) before the season finale in Foxborough against the New England Patriots (9-2).

Buffalo is currently on the outside looking in and has four teams "in the hunt" that have dibs if a current playoff team falters, though all of that could change in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, the Bills have plenty on their plate.
