Jets to interview GM prospect Maccagnan again

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New York Jets liked Mike Maccagnan so much they're dining him again.

Woody Johnson and his consultant team will bring back the Houston Texans' director of college scouting for a second interview regarding their vacant general manager position.

The team announced the second meeting Thursday, and Newsday's Kimberley A. Martin reported Maccagnan will interview Friday.
"Maccagnan has a long-standing relationship with Jets' consultant Charley Casserly. Maccagnan scouted for the Redskins from 1994-99 while Casserly was their GM, and Casserly later hired Maccagnan to be a scout when he joined the Texans in 2000," Martin wrote.
"Maccagnan also has ties to two candidates who have already interviewed for the Jets' head-coaching job: Doug Marrone and Todd Bowles."
