Mangini works his way back to a D-coordinator gig


Remember that Eric Mangini guy? He's making his way back.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the former New York Jets head coach (2006-2008)--who was the New England Patriots' defensive coordinator before that--has landed the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator gig.

Schefter reports he signed a three-year deal.

Mangini doesn't have to go far, as he was the team's tight end coach last year. However, the new job is his most prominent since being fired by the Cleveland Browns, whom he coached for two years following a three-year stint with the Jets, after the 2010 season.

OK, so you don't care what "Mangenius" (or "Rat," to Pats fans) is up to. Moving on...
