Dolphins' WR Gibson signs one-year deal with Patriots

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Gibson had an off year in 2014. The New England Patriots are willing to give him a chance to redeem himself.

The seven-year vet signed a one-year deal with the Super Bowl champs Tuesday, according to patriots.com, a prove-it deal that will pay the 27-year-old less than $900K.

Despite seeing time in twice as many games as he did in 2013, Gibson mustered fewer receptions (29) and fewer yards (295) than his first year in Miami. The wideout was eventually leapfrogged by rookie Jarvis Landry in the depth chart.
