Marcus Mariota: 'I'd love to play for the Jets'


The New York Jets are taking a serious look at Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mariota has taken a serious look at the Jets.

According to the NY Post, new general manager Mike Maccagnan, offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, quarterbacks coach Kevin Patullo and director of college scouting Rex Hogan flew to Oregon to watch Mariota’s pro day and set up a pre-draft visit.

“I’d love to play for the Jets,’’ Mariota said, via the Post. “Meeting with the offensive coordinator and the quarterbacks coach was awesome. It was an opportunity for me to introduce myself, and it seems like a great organization.’’

As of now, the Jets pick sixth in this year's draft, and their depth chart is currently topped with third-year Geno Smith and veteran journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.
