Goodwin fourth at nationals; football now 'main thing'

Well, it was worth a shot.

After being away from track for nearly three years, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin took his shot at the national long jump team this weekend, landing just short of a trip to Beijing.

The third-year wideout and former All-American finished fourth in the USA Track and Field national championships, jumping 27 feet, 5½ inches, or two inches shy of a spot in the world championships in August.

"We know what's (coming up) next year. I expect big things," Goodwin said of the upcoming Olympic games in Rio. "But football is my main deal right now."

The winning jump, courtesy of Marquis Dendy, came in at 28 feet, 5¾ inches.
