Bills release guard Chris Williams after failed physical

Chris Williams' first season with the Buffalo Bills was cut short last year due to injury. This year, it was cut even shorter for another reason.

The Bills released the former first round guard Tuesday due to a failed physical, according to The Buffalo News. Williams was entering the second year of a $13 million contract--a year in which he was set to make $2 million.

Williams, who turns 30 next month, started three games last season before going under the knife for a back ailment.

The Bills also waived safety Deon Broomfield, leaving a pair of roster spots open just before camp opens.
