Brandon LaFell boots boot, has 'healed up properly'

New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell had a career year during his team's Super Bowl run, compiling more than 950 yards through the air and seven touchdowns.

And after a spring filled with some much-needed rehab, he's literally making steps toward a repeat performance.

"Finally got some time off to let my body heal up properly; I’m out of the boot now and I’m just looking forward to starting camp," he said on Sirius XM NFL Radio Wednesday.

LaFell injured his toe in the team's final game of the regular season last year, an injury that he carried into this year's offseason workouts. Up until recently, the 28-year-old was donning a walking boot on his left foot, which kept him out of a majority of the team's workouts.

With a change in footwear, and barring further injury, the six-year vet looks poised to receive the lion's share of the perimeter work for the Pats this training camp, lining up in the No. 1 spot opposite Julian Edelman.
