RPT: Muhammad Wilkerson to report to camp

Muhammad Wilkerson will be in attendance for the start of New York Jets training camp.

According to Brian Costello of the NY Post, and other subsequent media reports, the star defensive lineman will report to camp Wednesday, just as he did for mandatory minicamp sessions. He skipped voluntary workouts earlier this year.

Wilkerson was basically expected all along to show his face despite the absence of a new contract. He said in June that he was "very confident" in negotiations, and he'd get docked $30,000 a day for skipping camp.

He's currently working on the final year of his rookie contract, which will pay him $6.96 million for the season.
