IK Enemkpali says sorry to the Jets and their fans

IK Enemkpali was released by the New York Jets Tuesday after the linebacker punched quarterback Geno Smith in the face, breaking Smith's jaw and putting him out of work for six to 10 weeks.

Enemkpali is sorry, so he says. He released the following statement, via Denis Waszak Jr. of the Associated Press:
“I apologize to the Jets organization, coaches, teammates and fans,” the statement reads. “Geno and I let our frustration get the best of us, but I should have just walked away from the situation. I deeply regret and apologize for my actions. It was never my intention to harm anyone. I appreciate the opportunity I had with the Jets.”
As for the "situation"... It was supposedly over $600 Smith owed Enemkpali regarding a charity event, according to Brian Costello of the NY Post.
