Jets sign undrafted Syracuse receiver Jarrod West

The New York Jets announced Sunday they have signed wide receiver Jarrod West.

On the heels of losing second-round speedster Devin Smith for a few weeks due to a rib/lung injury, it's no surprise the team opted to bring in a young pass-catcher to fill out the depth chart.

Smith went undrafted out of Syracuse this year, after spending four seasons with the Orange and snagging 49 catches last year.

He's taken the vacant roster spot of fullback J.C. Copland, who was waived by the team Saturday.
