Nick Folk done for year, Jets sign new kicker

Nick Folk's six season with the New York Jets has come to an end.

The New York Jets placed the kicker, who suffered a quadriceps injury during warmups Sunday, on injured reserve Tuesday. He still played in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars--as the holder for punter Ryan Quigley, who went 4-for-4 on extra points.

Gang Green found Folk's permanent (for at least the season) replacement in Randy Bullock, a 2012 fifth round pick out of Texas A&M of the Houston Texans.

Bullock has converted 61 of 76 career field goal tries (80.3 percent) and 69 of 71 point-after attempts (97.2 percent). Both XP misses came this year in the first two games of the year. He also missed a field goal before being waived.

Last year, he made 30 of 35 field goals, going 4-for-5 from 50 yards or more.

Folk made 13 of 16 field goal tries this year, hitting and all 19 extra points.
