Taylor giving Dolphins plenty of intel on Jets

Jason Taylor made a few big plays with the New York Jets last year, but his biggest play concerning the Jets this season may his impact on Miami’s offense.

The long-time Dolphin returned to Miami this season after a year stint with New York, and he’s doing what he can to help the Dolphins’ offense get to know the Jets' defense the veteran linebacker learned last year.

“Yeah naturally, couple things here and there,” Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore told the media Thursday when asked if Taylor has helped the offense prepare for the team’s Monday night bout with the Jets. “He’s obviously been there and knows how it works over there.”

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano elaborated.

"This is different than just pulling a player off of a practice squad from some place or anything like that," Sparano said Thursday. "He was there a year ago. I think he has a pretty good understanding and philosophy."

During his Thursday press conference, Jets coach Rex Ryan praised Taylor for what he did during his time in New York and said that even though Taylor will have some insider information for Miami, it’s not like the Jets run the same game plan against every team.

Moore is taking over the offense after quarterback Chad Henne went down two weeks ago to a season-ending shoulder injury. The career multi-role signal-caller thinks Taylor has given the offense enough to work with. Now, it’s a matter of making plays.

“I think ultimately, I keep going back to this, I think with the things he’s given us, again it’s going to come down to us executing, being productive and doing everything we can to get a win,” Moore said.

Miami is 3-1 against New York in the Ryan era, and the Jets have yet to beat the Dolphins at home with Ryan as their coach.
