Bills claim Choice, Jackson done for season

The Buffalo Bills claimed running back Tashard Choice off waivers Wednesday, a move coinciding with the announcement that Fred Jackson would miss at least one week to a fibula injury. Jackson was then placed on Injured Reserve Wednesday afternoon.

"Further tests on Fred’s leg have shown that he has a broken bone so that’s disappointing news for our team," Bills coach Chan Gailey said, according to the team's Twitter account.

Choice was let go by the Washington Redskins, for whom he played just one game after being claimed after being waived by the Dallas Cowboys.

Choice had six carries for seven yards Sunday in Washington's loss to the Cowboys. He picked up just 75 yards on 28 carries in six games with Dallas.

The loss of Jackson is a huge one, as he was Buffalo's most productive player, not only in the run game, but with pass blocking and catching balls out of the backfield.

C.J. Spiller has been preparing to start this week for Buffalo, which travels to New York to face the Jets Sunday.
