Rex: 11-5 = playoffs, but Jets focused on Bills

After losing to the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos just four days apart, the New York Jets are clawing for their playoff lives.

The Jets (5-5) host the Buffalo Bills (5-5) Sunday in what is essentially Round 1 of their postseason.

New York can't look any further than Sunday, but Jets coach Rex Ryan was asked if he thinks running the table would ensure a playoff berth. He thought so.

"If you’re 11-5, you’re going to the playoffs I would think," Ryan said during his Monday presser. "Again, we have to beat Buffalo, period, end of conversation. That’s where our focus is going to be."

The division-leading Patriots are virtually unreachable at this point, leaving the Jets in the fight for a Wildcard. The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) and Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) currently hold the two Wildcard spots, but the Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Bills and Jets are all in the hunt at .500.

New York has a relatively favorable remaining schedule, though we never know what to expect from Gang Green.
