Season likely over for Bills receiver Jones

Buffalo Bills coach Chan Gailey gave Donald Jones and "outside chance" of returning this season, calling the second-year wide receiver's ankle injury, which he sustained in the Bills' 35-8 loss to the Miami Dolphins Sunday, more long-term than short-term.

Jones will likely end up on Injured Reserve, thinning out an already thin wide receiver corps. With the recent loss in that group, David Nelson will move to the outside wideout position.

Running back Fred Jackson, who was also dinged up (calf) Sunday, isn't likely to practice until later in the week, and cornerback Terrence McGee had surgery on his patella tendon, which put an end to his season. Buffalo is also unsure if it will get safety George Wilson back this week.

The Bills (5-5) travel to face the New York Jets (5-5) Sunday.
