Jets' Folk will get another offseason to keep his job

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Nick Folk has made some critical kicks over the past two seasons. So despite his less-than-stellar 76 percent conversion rate last season, Folk will be around for at least one more offseason.

The Jets announced Wednesday that they have re-signed Folk to a one-year contract.

Folk led the Jets in scoring the last two seasons, tallying point totals of 127 and 101. Last season, Folk broke Pat Leahy and Jay Feely's season-opening record of 10 consecutive field goals (1986 and 2009, respectively), by hitting his first 11.

New York is still expected to give Folk some competition in camp.

Also Wednesday, Gang Green released receiver Michael Campbell and safety Gerald Alexander before signing reserve center Kris O'Dowd.
