Giants legend Phil Simms has another son in the NFL. Sorta.

Former Tennessee quarterback Matt Simms, who had a tryout over the weekend during the Jets' rookie camp, was signed by New York Sunday, according to ESPN New York.

Matt Simms is now slated as the Jets' fifth signal-caller behind Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Greg McElroy and G.J. Kinne. So, it's not likely he'll see time in a preseason game, let alone action late in training camp.

Jets coach Rex Ryan complimented the former Volunteer's "arm talent" when addressing the media over the weekend, adding that Simms "obviously" has the "pedigree."

In addition to his father's stellar career in the NFL, Matt Simms has a brother, Chris, who played in the NFL and is now an assistant for the Patriots.
