Brady, Gronk make top 10 in fan Pro Bowl voting

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

The New England Patriots’ offense is ranked at the top or near the top of every category under the sun this season, so it’s no surprise its key players are being recognized accordingly by NFL fans.

Quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski each made the top 10 in the fan portion of the Pro Bowl voting process, according to nfl.com.

Brady garnered more than 900,000 votes — second most behind only Peyton Manning — and Gronkowski grabbed more than 640,000 votes, good enough for eighth-most. (photo: jdn, Flickr)

Brady’s performance this season has not only put him up for Pro Bowl honors but MVP nods, as well. In 14 games, he’s already accumulated more than 4,000 yards in the air, tallying 30 touchdowns to just six interceptions. Gronkowski, despite missing four games, has put up nearly 750 yards and 10 touchdowns, the most scores of any tight end in the league.

One-third of the voting for the Pro Bowl relies on fan votes via the league’s official website. Players and coaches will cast their votes today and tomorrow, and the teams will be announced on Dec. 26. The game will be played on Jan. 27, 2013, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
