Stop the presses. Darrelle Revis is working out.
Revis, widely regarded as the best cornerback in the NFL, said Tuesday afternoon via Twitter that he just finished a workout. He's coming off an ACL tear that ended his season in October and required surgery. (Marianne O'Leary, Flickr)
"The knee is still feeling pretty good but still have a ways to go," Revis said.
That's good news for the Jets, who were without their best player for most of the 2012 season. Antonio Cromartie was stellar in spelling for Revis as the team's No. 1 corner, but Gang Green took their lumps on the other side of the field with marginal players assuming Cromartie's old role.
Revis is due $6 million in 2013, which is also the final year of his current contract, according to Rotoworld. Instead of holding some leverage over the Jets like he did last time he was seeking a new deal, Revis now has a year to prove that he can get back to being the elite player he was before the injury.

Recovering from an ACL tear is long and grueling. Aside from the physical damage, it also affects our mentality especially when engaging in sports, may be it contact or non-contact. The best way to fully recover is to not rush things.
ReplyDeleteHe should hold back. It should take a full year of recovery to ensure that the ligament healed properly. Rushing into full contact is a big risk and I hope that he won't regret it.
ReplyDeleteHe should learn to be patient, rushing things would aggravate his injury. After therapy, he should also have a MRI on the whole leg to ensure that there were no damage done to the whole of his leg.
ReplyDeleteTake it nice and slow. I think that yoga could be a good practice before he sets his foot on the field. It will strengthen his core and from the time that he's a 100%, he'll perform better than ever.
